We are into Fall - the leaves are beginning too!!
The Main Line Times came and photographed me for a special Article Thursday October
5, 2006. I was Recognized as "Volunteer of the Week" for my volunteer
work at the Lower Merion Conservancy the past couple of years helping to send
out mailings and organizing material into catagories. I felt honored and it was
a great Article!! It goes along with my recognition of the historic resources
in the township and starting HARB as an adjunct to the building committee. As
an aside, when we started HARB we started with recognization of 25 Buildings
-
that list now numbers over 500, including the designation of Ardmore central
area as an "Historic District" as it originally was Athensville and
many of the original 18th Century Buildings still stand!!! I was honored to be
recognized when I am no longer there in person but there
in soul.
Bob and his new girlfriend Maddie took me to Ohio State Saturday October 7th
to see the "new" enlarged 1922 football stadium and OSU trounce Bowling
Green 35-3!! It was a beautiful day, I got to spend time with a former housemate
Jim
Schell and to really meet Maddie!! I got to see my old haunts and
BJ photographed the "DESILETS" Brick!!!
It was a wonderful trip.
Chelle continues to move
along and we are waiting for Christmas and the New BABY!!!
That is all for now - HAPPY FALL!!!

Chelle has been married since January 21st to Rick.
The wedding was a fabulous event at CHA. I got to walk Chelle down the aisle
in a gorgeous dress - uhh Chelle was wearing the dress and I was in a tux!!
I think that was the first tux since my wedding. The reception at the Villanova
Conference Center was a GALA affair. Both of my brothers Rex and Carol and
Charlie and Trudy flew in to be a part of the BIG DAY. I was proud to be
a "center" of giving Chelle away. Everything turned out without
a hitch - it seemed flawless. They are in New Zealand for two weeks and I
look forward to their return as Happy Couple. As well, I am now a Grandpop
officially to Preslee. She was a nice part of the Wedding and I look forward
to time with them and her.
Bob Jr. is now in the Master of Environmental Science Program at the University
of Pennsylvania. I am proud of him and wish him well... in the world beyond computers.
Chelle has gotten me back into an old "habit" - the Walnut Street Theater,
the Oldest Theater in the Country (opening in 1809!!). I am looking forwatrd
to seeing "Lost in Yonkers" this month. And all the plays by the Narberth
Community Theater.
As January 17th was Benjamin Franklin (my hero) 300th Birthday, there have been
many Articles in the Philadelphia Inquirer about his life and "Escapades".
I want to see many of the exhibits about him and to Franklin Court one of my
favorite projects.
Right now we might have the chance to have a good sports team = the Flyers are
in first place!!! Lets hope to groundhog predicts an early spring.

Bob and I went to Fallingwater this weekend for dinner! See Pictures!
7/6/06:
Half of 2006 already!!! Biggest news is Chelle is over the
first three months of pregnancy and feeling a little better. I will be thrilled
to be a new Grandfather twice in one year! The baby is due right on Christmas
- what a present!!! I am wondering if it a boy if they will name him Elvis...
Then my Grandchildren will be Elvis and Preslee.. I cannot wait.
BJ has moved to Upper Darby to a nice home more suited to his life at this point.
We actually have done more things together though he is busy getting his Masters
in Environmental Science. Should be good for him. He has taken me to most of
the Phillies gaes I have seen this far - but they are pathetic...barely holding
on to Second Place. Last time they won the World's Series was 1980. I think there
might have been another but befre that was 1950.
My companion, Andrea, took me to the Brandywine River Museum to see an Andrew
Wyeth Show - like being "home" as the Museum is aross the Brandywine
River from John Milner's Office in Chadds Ford. I hope
to go back again....
My garden here is growing (I think). It has been so rainy at night I have not
ventured there as much as I would like, I had a Poinsetta for '05 Christmas and
a Lily for '06 Easter and took them to the garden to plant. Like digging through
concrete for two inches to moist soil, but they got planted. I am sure with the
rains we have had it will need more work but it is looking good. Janice, my Case
Manager, brought a wonderful cast metal sign with an inscription and Bob, Chelle
and Rick bought me a garden chair for Father's Day to sit, relax and enjoy!!
Enjoy your Summer!!! Catch up with you later.
